Our Partners

The BioEconomy Working Group is a working group of the Value Chain Partnerships for Sustainable Agriculture project funded by the W.K. Kellogg Foundation at Iowa State University. Financial support comes from five key partners: Leopold Center, Iowa Energy Center, NatureWorks, LLC., BIOWA, and the US Department of Energy.

W.K. Kellogg

The W.K. Kellogg Foundation is a nonprofit organization whose mission is to apply knowledge to solve the problems of people. Its founder W.K. Kellogg, the cereal industry pioneer, established the Foundation in 1930. Since its beginning the Foundation has continuously focused on building the capacity of individuals, communities, and institutions to solve their own problems.

Leopold Center for Sustainable Agriculture
Leopold Center - Iowa State University The Leopold Center is a research and education center with statewide programs to develop sustainable agricultural practices that are both profitable and conserve natural resources. It was established under the Groundwater Protection Act of 1987 to conduct research into the negative impacts of agricultural practices, assist in developing alternative practices, and to work with ISU Extension to inform the public of Leopold Center findings.
Iowa Energy Center
Iowa Energy Center The Iowa Energy Center is supporting projects that help Iowans understand how they can make their homes more comfortable and affordable to own. It is investing in initiatives that help Iowa industries and businesses run efficiently so they can be more productive and profitable.

NatureWorks, LLC
NatureWorks, LLC., offers a family of polymers derived from annually renewable resources wtih the cost and performance to compete with petroleum-based packaging materials and fibers.

BIOWA Development Association BIOWA™ supports and promotes the growth and development of Iowa's bioeconomy. The group is working to develop regional biorefineries and biobusinesses, in addition to providing investment opportunities for Iowans.
