Group Information
Our Goals
- Research, analyze, model and implement profitable business strategies for farmers to organize as the "feedstock link" in value chains for biobased businesses
- Explore, analyze and pilot strategies for farmer and local community equity investment in biobased businesses and biorefineries
- Diversify Iowa's cropping system by supporting projects that develop markets and/or products using new crops
- Further develop the capacity of Iowa State University to respond to challenges facing farmers, entrepreneurs and biobusinesses by involving ISU faculty and staff in biobusiness development projects
- Help facilitate communication among stakeholders in biobased businesses through newsletters, websites, meetings, forums and/or referrals
- Leverage Kellogg and Iowa Energy Center funds for biobased value chains
