John M. Sweeten
John M. Sweeten is the Resident Director of the Texas Agricultural Experiment Station and Professor of Agricultural Engineering at Texas A&M University. He has previously worked for the Texas Cooperative Extension and also West Texas A&M University as both a professor and an agricultural engineer.
Sweeten has been involved with numerous industry and governmental committees including recently serving on the USDA Agricultural Air Quality Task Force and the Panhandle Regional Water Planning Group. He also served on the Operations Committee of the National Center for Manure and Animal Waste Management and on various committees for the National Pork Producers Council and the National Cattlemen’s Beef Association.
In 1995, Sweeten was awarded the USDA Award for Superior Service for his work with the Texas Cooperative Extension Water Quality Initiative Team. He has also been awarded numerous awards for environmental excellence. Sweeten earned his B. S. in Agricultural Engineering from Texas Tech University and his M.S. and Ph.D. in Agricultural Engineering from Oklahoma State University.
