Andreja Bakac
Andreja Bakac is an adjunct professor in the Department of Chemistry at Iowa State University and a senior scientist with Ames Laboratory, a Department of Energy facility. Her research interests include kinetics and mechanisms of inorganic and organometallic reactions; catalytic oxidation with molecular oxygen; activation of dioxygen by transition metal complexes; and chemistry of reactive intermediates in transition metal-dioxygen interactions.
Bakac currently serves on the editorial board of the following science publications, Inorganic Chemistry, Inorganic Reaction Mechanisms, and Dalton Transactions. She is a member of the American Chemical Society, American Association for the Advancement of Science, Sigma Xi, and the Iowa Academy of Science. In 1988 and 1990 she was a visiting professor at Tohoku University in Sendai. Bakac received her B.S. and her Ph.D. from the University of Zagreb. She completed her postdoctoral work at Iowa State University with Jim Espenson, professor of Chemistry, before joining Ames Laboratory.
