03/17/05 - Working Group Tours Kenaf Industries of South Texas
A group from Iowa visited Charles (Chuck) Taylor, a kenaf producer in McAllen, Texas, to discuss growing and processing kenaf. While in Texas the group toured kenaf processing facilities, kenaf fields, and viewed kenaf harvesting machinery.
03/10/05 - Grants Fund Research Efforts in Iowa businesses
Thirteen grants totaling more than $80,000 have recently been awarded to support research and development for innovative Iowa businesses that focus on sustainably raised flax, switchgrass, produce, pork and dairy products. The grants are from the Value Chain Partnerships for a Sustainable Agriculture (VCPSA) project at Iowa State University.
